You have many options for activities in and around the St. George area and we’ll name some of the highlights here. In the morning we suggest you try a walk, run or bike ride on one of the many scenic paved trails in the St. George area. There are 30 miles of trails presently available so just take your pick. Close by is the Fiesta Family Fun center with go-carts, miniature golf, driving range, arcade and more. Also close by is Laser Mania a fun center with laser tag and indoor miniature golf. Looking for water activities? Enjoy our indoor/outdoor swimming pool or go to the Sand Hollow aquatic center with indoor waterslide, whirlpool, fountains, lap pools and diving areas.

St. George has quite a history and there are many historic buildings and areas where you can learn more of our pioneer and Native American past. We suggest you visit the St. George LDS Temple visitor center, the St. George Tabernacle, Opera House, Brigham Young historic home, Jacob Hamblin historic home, the Chamber of Commerce Old Courthouse in the downtown area or the Bureau of Land Management information center. If you want to go back further in time we encourage you to visit the Johnson Dinosaur Tracks area which is just a few miles from us. Shopping in St. George is excellent with factory outlet stores, malls, boutiques, antique stores, art galleries and more. Throughout the year the Tuacahn Center for the Performing Arts offers outdoor musical productions in their 2,000 seat amphitheater. In town you’ll find enjoyable theatrical productions at the St. George musical theater.

This is a great full day and begins by heading north on Interstate 15 to the town of Leeds. This town, named for its English counterpart is next to the remains of one of the boom-towns of the west – Silver Reef. Silver Reef became famous when silver was found in the sandstone of the area. The only time silver has been found in sandstone in North America. In the 1870’s and early 1880’s this town was part of the wild west and the largest in southern Utah. You’ll enjoy seeing the structures that remain and visiting the museum and art gallery at the old Wells Fargo building.

From here venture north on I-15 and circle east to scenic highway 9. You’ll pass through Rockville on your way to Springdale which lies at the mouth of the main canyon for Zion National Park. In Springdale you’ll find shops, restaurants and entertainment. In particular we suggest you visit the Zion Canyon Cinemax (Giant Screen Theater) and watch their movie "Zion – Treasure of the Gods". Another option (usually on weekends) is for night-time entertainment at the O.C. Tanner outdoor amphitheater. You may also wish to see the excellent entertainment at the Bumbleberry Theater in Springdale. Of course the park has plenty to offer. Golf is an obvious option in St. George at any time of day or year. There are many courses to choose from, with different levels of difficulty. Check out our golf packages – click here! You’ll find courses surrounded by red sandstone cliffs or others surrounded by ancient lava beds. Some courses offer views of the surrounding mountains. Whatever your choice you’ll be pleased with the experience.

Local guides offer ATV riding experiences for 2.5 to 5 hours. You’ll cover a lot of ground and see things from a viewpoint that few people ever get the chance to do. These ATV’s are easy for anyone to operate and you’ll be guided to view points throughout.

Travel north on Bluff Street and venture past Snow Canyon State Park about 20 minutes to the town of Veyo. Here you’ll find the Veyo outdoor pool and Crawdad Canyon climbing area. You can enjoy the scenic lava gorge and just relax for a picnic, swim, eat a burger or try rock climbing with experienced guides. Travel north from Veyo another 15 minutes and turn east into the Pine Valley area. Another 15 minutes into the Valley you’ll come across the historic Pine Valley church built by Ebenezer Bryce (for whom Bryce Canyon is named). Because Bryce was a boat builder, the church is actually an upside down boat with a steeple on top. Pine Valley offers many hiking trails and a beautiful dense Ponderosa Pine forest with picnic areas and a lake for fishing. Pine Valley is just 40 minutes north of St George.

Sand Hollow, Quail Creek and Gunlock Reservoirs are within 12-20 minutes from St George and each offers excellent opportunities for swimming, boating, jet-skiing, fishing and other lake activities.   The recently opened Sand Hollow reservoir lies in a very scenic setting and reminds many people of a miniature Lake Powell.   With sand dunes on the south, the Sand Hollow area is ideal for boating, ATV riding and other outdoor activities.  The reservoirs are stocked with fish and are popular with anglers year-round.  Each of the reservoirs is close to other attractions - so just take a look at a map to plan one day or several days of fun around these areas.   There are some watercraft regulations so check with your local state parks offices or go online here for more information.
